Swiss-Style Dobosh Torte
Seven thin, crisp layers of yellow cake and chocolate ganache covered in a hard chocolate shell.
Typically not as moisture-laden as the traditional American “cake”, this torte is a European classic. It differs from the traditional Hungarian specialty, known as “Dobos”, which has sponge cake, buttercream and caramel.
Our version is created with thin layers of yellow cake baked to a near crisp, layered with rich chocolate ganache seven times over, then cut into a rectangular shape and covered in a hard dark chocolate shell.
Simple yet elegant, this confectionery delight has seen many variations since it was first introduced in the late 1800s and boasts a unique appearance and taste.
